The CMH Surgery Center, which opened in 1999, includes 15,000 square feet in new construction and nearly 4,000 in renovated space. The overall design – including a dedicated parking lot near the hospital's front entrance – facilitates a positive, comfortable patient experience.
The Surgery Center has six state-of-the-art operating rooms, which incorporate laser technology for prostate, ear, nose and throat and other kinds of surgeries. This means patients spend less time in the hospital and recover faster.
Additionally, pre-admission testing, Same Day Surgery and recovery are close to the operating rooms – enabling staff to collaborate regarding a patient's care without leaving the area. A separate area allows parents to stay with their children before surgery. Toys, books and other games are arrayed in a bright, spacious, child-friendly room.
